Can You Remove Micropigmentation Or Microblading Naturally

Can You Remove Micropigmentation: Micropigmentation and microblading are 2 semi-permanent makeup techniques based on the implantation of pigments in the skin . In a natural way and after a certain time that will depend on various circumstances, the treatment will gradually be erased due to the natural regeneration of the skin. The estimated duration of the result is 1 or  2 years in microblading,  and approximately  between 3 and 5 years in micropigmentation. Therefore, after this period of time, we should not have pigment implanted in the area.

However, in the case of a  tattoo, the pigment will not fade naturally , regardless of the passage of time. We often come across clients who have a tattoo on their eyebrows, eyes, lips, etc., without being aware of it . This occurs because even if the client requests a micro-pigmentation if the technician does not perform good practice and goes

too deep when implanting the pigment, he will leave the ink deposited in the deepest layers of the skin, which in practice means a tattoo. As a general rule, we consider that a treatment that has lasted more than 6 years is a tattoo, even if it has been erroneously marketed as micro-pigmentation. In these cases, and also in the previously mentioned microblading and micro pigmentation where we do not want to wait for them to be erased by natural regeneration of the skin, we must resort to one of the depigmentation techniques shown below.

What Are The Most Used Depigmentation Techniques For Removing Micro Pigmentation And Microblading?

First of all, it is important to point out that it is very difficult to remove the micropigmented skin particles. In fact, the body always tries to expel these particles in vain since they are very large particles, and especially when the pigments are not at a superficial level, their elimination is quite difficult, so below we will make a classification and definition of each type of technique and its efficiency to remove the pigments completely.

Medical and even surgical treatments are commonly used for depigmentation . Vasodilators or depigmentation products are usually used , but they are generally used to correct small errors generated during the micropigmentation treatment.  They can also be used to lighten a pigment, bearing in mind that unwanted

pigmentation can be acquired, since more complex techniques are needed to completely eliminate it. However, following a rigorous treatment with the demographer at maximum power using needles to scrape the area with the depigmenting product, they can give better results. Once the area has been treated with the scraping, it is recommended to use soothing and anti-inflammatory products.

LASER TECHNIQUE:

The laser works by emitting bursts of energy of different lengths or extremely hot and fast waves to dislodge these pigment particles so that they dissolve in the body’s system.

In general, the laser technique gives good results depending on the depth of the pigment in the skin. Within this depigmentation treatment there are also different types of laser, which varies in the finish and depigmentation process.

The duration of the treatment depends on the color you want to depigment and the type of depth at which you work. Generally, three to six sessions with a time interval of two to three weeks are necessary for tissue regeneration.

Abnormal scars such as keloids may appear, even pigment remains, so the results vary depending on each person.

It should be noted that a specific type of laser is used for each color, so a single wavelength is not enough to remove all colors, and certain color tones are very difficult to remove.

We will have to inform our client that the treatment, apart from being painful, implies a great expense and the complete elimination of the pigment without leaving some type of scar is not promised, since it is almost impossible despite the technological advances of this treatment.

Within this treatment there are different types of laser (the effectiveness of the laser decreases if we increase the wavelength), for example:

  •         RUBY LASER : The first laser that was created for depigmentation. This works very well on black, blue, and green colors, although it is not as efficient on colors like red, yellow, or orange.
  •         ALEXANDRITE LASER: This allows better penetration into the tissue and reduces the risk of hypopigmentation compared to the Ruby laser. Like the Ruby laser, it can remove colors such as black, blue or green, but it is not very effective for reds and yellows.
  •         CARBON DIOXIDE LASER: Emits very high wavelengths, having the inconvenience of being able to cause changes in skin color (dyschromias). It is commonly used to remove pigments that are deeper in small specific areas.
  •         NEODYMIUM YAG LASER : Its advantage over other types of laser is that it does not leave a scar and completely removes the ink due to its great precision in short periods of time, reducing the risk of damage with high temperatures.
  •         COLORING PULSED LASER : Unlike the previous two that emit red light, this one emits a yellow light. Effective to nuance blue or reddish colors. A crust is created at the superficial level, falling off naturally in a week.

Laser treatment usually does not leave scars, although due precautions must be taken to prevent them. Excessive darkening or even whitening may occur, but this is temporary, over time the skin will obtain its own tone. Although it is considered an effective method, and has traditionally been the most requested option, the  main drawbacks of

the laser as a depigmentation agent is that it is not a selective method that can eliminate all colors with the same efficiency, the possible appearance of allergic reactions, and the price of the treatment.

The care recommendations after the laser are similar or even identical to those made to people who have just had micropigmentation, not to expose themselves to the sun or, if necessary, use sunscreen.

  •         ELIMINATION WITH SALT :

Unlike other depigmentation techniques, this one leaves a quite noticeable scar since it consists of sanding the skin with salt until the pigment disappears. When the area reddens, it is covered for tissue regeneration. Local anesthesia is used for this technique.

  •         DERMOPEELING:

It consists of generating a lesion in the skin (dermis-epidermis) so that it can later regenerate and thus create new tissues.

It is carried out using different types of exfoliating agents depending on the depth of the wound to be produced for the removal of these pigments. The depth levels to use these scrubs are:

– Superficial (0.06 mm).

– Medium-deep (0.45 mm).

– Deep (0.6mm).

  •         DEPIGMENTATION USING LIQUID NITROGEN:

This technique consists of introducing liquid nitrogen in order to freeze the skin area below -20º Celsius, damaging the tissues and leaving a very noticeable scar. This technique is not commonly used for micropigmentation, however, there are other treatments that work with a less intense temperature so as not to damage the tissues.

  •         REMOVE THE SKIN BY COLD AND FRICTION:

Being less effective than the LASER, it begins by spraying the area with a solution to freeze the area to be depigmented, followed by a device with which the superficial layers of the skin are “sanded” or gently removed, allowing the pigmentation to be eliminated by burns that, by creating a scab, will consequently eliminate the pigment.

The treatment is done under local anesthesia. Keep in mind that the treatment is not going to be perfect, usually only the improvement is very limited.

The regeneration of the dermis is not complete, so it does not recover its full thickness, causing scars and contractures.

  •         SKIN EXTENSION:

It consists of inserting a balloon and inflating it once it is under the skin, thus slowly stretching the epidermis, and then extracting it. The stretched skin is then left in place, leaving a scar.

  •         SURGERY:

It is usually used in specific cases such as when the area to be depigmented is very small, the tattoo is in very deep layers or there are many colors to depigment. The skin is surgically removed removing the tattoo completely, therefore scarring is very likely.

WHAT IS THE MOST EFFECTIVE AND RECOMMENDED REMOVAL SOLUTION TO REMOVE MICROPIGMENTATION?: THE CHEMICAL “REMOVER”

The most recommended option and the one that is gaining more acceptance in recent years, even over the laser (which cannot remove all colors, and in some cases can cause reactions or adverse results), is the chemical “Remover”. This solution is applied to the area using a dermograph or micropigmentation machine, which means that it is not as painful as other alternatives.

The procedure is simple and consists of the application of a liquid emulsion (“Remover”), which, when in contact with the components of the ink, produces a chemical reaction that causes the pigment to rise, until it is dissolved mixed together with the ” Remover” on the surface of the skin. Then it is only necessary to remove it with a tissue.

The “Remover” is not considered an acid, since its pH is alkaline, so the dangers of working with acid substances on the skin, such as irritation or risk of burns, are avoided. There is also no negative impact on the hair follicle (as occurs with lasers) or on the melanin in the body.

It is a selective method by colors (as it happens with the laser), so that it is equally effective depending on the type of color that we want to erase, which is very useful for microblading, micropigmentation and also for

tattooing. According to scientific research, usually with 2 or 3 sessions an erasure efficiency of between 90 and 95% is achieved. It does not cause pain or irritation on the skin.

This technique can only be used by micropigmentation and tattoo professionals who have previously developed specialized training in the handling of the chemical “Remover”. The only drawback to resorting to this technique is the price . As a reference, in the network of MicroStetic centers , located in Madrid, the cost for the first session is

€180. For all other applications, the fee is €150/session. You can contact and make an appointment for this treatment through the web at https://microstetic.es or by calling 91 470 05 20.

AND WHAT IS THE CHEAPEST ALTERNATIVE AND WITH GOOD RESULTS?: THE CORRECTION WITH MICROPIGMENTATION (ONLY FEASIBLE IN CASES OF NON-SEVERE COLOR CHANGES)

The correction or camouflage (cover) of micropigmentation offers considerably natural results at an affordable cost , since the rates are notably lower compared to the Remover (recommended), and to laser erasure. Due to this, it is the most used technique for these cases and the one that is usually offered as the first option to clients who cannot/want to adjust to chemical or laser erasure.

Of course, it is necessary to take into account that it cannot be applied in all cases; the professional must assess each client personally. Pigments such as Magic Color or Beige are usually used , you can see them at the

following web link micropigmentation pigments . These tones perfectly mimic the color of the skin to carry out micropigmentation correction or even to cover scars, giving a better finish, camouflaging very well unwanted scars due to depigmentation techniques or surgical treatments.

Other toning tones can also be used, such as olive green to correct reddish eyebrows, orange to correct blue tones in the eyes, yellow to correct purple-looking eyebrows, etc. In the  pack of approved toning pigments , the most used tones for correction work are included.
